The first weekend in June marks the return of the annual Portland Modern Home Tour. Portlandians are invited to get an up close and personal look at a curated selection of the area’s most unique homes that exemplify modern architecture and living. Visitors have the rare chance to talk to the architects, builders, and designers that created the home, as well as the people that live there.
For the second year in a row, the Architecture Foundation of Oregon will help staff the event as the tour’s non-profit partner and beneficiary.
Local architecture expert Brian Libby, founder of portlandarchitecture.com, is carefully curating and selecting the participating homes for this the Modern Architecture + Design Society’s 2017 Portland Modern Home Tour:

Last summer, Modern Home Tours LLC became the Modern Architecture + Design Society (MA+DS) – a new multi-media entity that aims to create a vibrant, global community of modern architecture and design enthusiasts. The goal: to deliver and provide a unique experience and opportunity through multiple platforms that inspire engagement with the people, places, and things that define the “modern” movement and enrich the collective appreciation of modern architecture, design, and style. Still the heart of the MA+DS operation, the self-driven and self-paced Modern Home Tours provide rare inside looks at some of the most stunning, privately-owned modern homes in cities across the continent each year.
Participating homes in the Modern Architecture + Design Society’s 6th annual Portland Modern Home Tour will open their doors for viewing from 11AM – 5PM on Saturday, June 3rd, in and around the Portland area. All are invited to attend. Tickets for each tour are $35 in advance online; $40 on the day of the tour.
