“TOLEDO: WHERE ART AND INDUSTRY MEET” is the theme of the 23rd Annual Art
Walk Labor Day weekend September 3-4-5 this year and with good reason to
celebrate the melding of a variety of art work mediums from 30 participating
artists. Paintings, sculpture, glasswork, textiles, jewelry, clay, wood
carvings & turnings, photography, and a 2:00pm daily Punch & Toby Puppet
show given by the Oregon Coast Children’s Theatre. Live music by Sons of
the Beaches group will be played under tent cover in the Vicarage House
Museum garden each day and the talks there about art which are given by live
artists at 1:00pm are a favorite of Art Walk. 10 artists have been juried
into the 3rd Annual Plein Air Show & Competition at the 1887 School Yaquina
River Museum of Art where $2000. in cash awards will be given out. Sales of
this art benefit the artists and the museum. Art Walk offers a unique
opportunity to meet with the artists and learn about their art techniques
and to consider purchasing art while enjoying refreshments in a relaxed
setting. Maps for this City-Wide event will be available at all locations
and in the Newport News Times Friday Sept. 2 paper. Come early and come
back each day to this FREE event!
