Bill Shumway, artist and owner of Pegasus Gallery, Corvallis will give an informal talk about his art at 2:00pm Saturday March 1 at the School House. Shumway is a featured artist in the present Board Members Collect exhibit and his painting “Metolius” acrylic 30″ x 24″ is on loan to the Museum by Richard Nichols, YRMA Past Chair and Board member. His work is currently on display at Pegasus Gallery and the Blue Dome Gallery in Silver City, NM. Bill works primarily in acrylic and interference pigments, transparent glass impregnated acrylics which refract separate prism colors. He employs them in almost all of his acrylic works. Bill enjoys experimenting with all kinds of media, however, including sculpture, drawing, and painting with heated copy toner and teas and he also works with oils, watercolor and printmaking. Bill has taught art in a variety of venues and enjoys talking with people. The public is cordially invited to join him at YRMA.
