Dee Boyles Retrospective

In May, Currents Gallery will feature a retrospective of the work of renowned artist, Dee Boyles. Dedicated to his craft, Dee was a life-long artist who mastered many styles and media including graphic design, illustration, watercolor, oil painting, and Japanese woodblock printing. After moving from Alaska to Laguna Beach, CA in 1997, he discovered the California Impressionists and began painting oils en plein air. He thoroughly enjoyed being in nature concurrently while capturing the essence of a landscape on canvas. He participated in many plein air painting competitions in various locations in California, Colorado, and the Oregon Lavender Festival where he won two first place awards. His art has been exhibited in Alaska, Colorado, California, and Oregon. His high-quality Japanese woodblock prints have been on display at Currents Gallery. The upcoming Dee Boyles Retrospective will be a celebration of the late artist’s life and work. Join us for wine and hors d’oeuvres at the Opening Reception on Friday, May 5th from 4pm to 7pm.
