“Spring is in our Heart and Art” by Claudia Herber and Marlene Eichner

Claudia Herber and Marlene Eichner are teaming up to present an exciting display of their art for the featured show in May at Currents Gallery. They bring to you their “Azure Canvas” wearable collection as well as the signature art that led to their collaboration. Claudia’s amazing painting talent is apparent in both her jeans jacket embellishments and in her gourd designs. In this show you’ll see the fine art she has created from the humble gourd using carving, wood burning (pyrography) techniques, and different finish combinations of ink dyes, oils, acrylics and gold leaf. Marlene, as a fabric artist, uses her skills of applique, embroidery and thread painting on the “Azure Canvas” clothing to create upcycled designs that you will want to wear. She will also be displaying her wall art and zippered pouches that showcase original designs. Join us at the Opening Reception taking place on Saturday May 21st at the gallery.
