“The Art of Printmaking by Phyllice Bradner”
October 11 @ 11:00 AM - November 14 @ 4:00 PMFree
The October show at Currents Gallery will feature Phyllice Bradner’s handmade prints along with a visual explanation of the process of printmaking. Bradner, one of the Gallery’s seven owner/partners, has been making wood block prints and etchings for more than 20 years. She will display and explain the materials used in the production of her work and many of her finished pieces–including those in her childrens’ book–will be in the show.
“I like to create art that makes people smile,” says Bradner. “I incorporate whimsical ravens and crows, dogs, cats, or even frogs in most of my work. My paintings usually have a touch of fantasy and the books I co-author with my sister are comical mysteries.”
The show will run from October 11 through November 14. During the Opening Reception, the afternoon of Saturday, October 16, the artist will offer a short discussion about the Art of Printmaking.
