Family Fun Fridays

At Willamette Heritage Center in Salem

When school is out for summer, parents need ways to keep kids entertained. Most look for screen-free solutions.

So, this year starting July 12, 2024, the Willamette Heritage Center (WHC) will offer Family Fun Fridays, fun and interactive lessons aimed at 6-14-year-olds and their grown-ups that will spark curiosity and foster a love for learning. The program includes all-day self-guided museum tours and a 1-hour interactive lesson.

Families can make a day of it by packing a picnic and a blanket to enjoy on our lawns or picnic benches. They can also treat themselves to lunch at our on-site cafe, Taproot Old Mill Cafe.

Every family has its own unique rhythm. So, we’ve designed our program to be flexible, allowing program participants to arrive early, stay late, or even make a day of it! Our doors are open from 10 AM to 4 PM, allowing them to enjoy the museum and scheduled program at their own pace.

Families can attend as many Fridays as they wish. Each Friday is $10 per person (6+), including all-day self-guided museum tours and a 1-hour interactive lesson. Kids 0-5 are welcome as well, and free. We’re offering 25% off when signing up for both August 9 lessons or both August 16 lessons. WHC Members receive a 10% discount.
