Thane Hawkins, owner of Hawkins Cellars, announces the opening of his new tasting room in Dundee, Oregon.
Located at 990 N Hwy 99W in Dundee, behind the Cathedral Ridge Tasting Room, Hawkins has moved into the space formerly occupied by Daedalus Cellars, which closed last November. The new tasting room has been updated to reflect a relaxed, casual yet modern wine tasting experience. Highlights of the new tasting room include an outdoor courtyard perfectly appointed to enjoy a summer picnic with your favorite glass or bottle of Hawkins Cellars’ wine and a rotating gallery of art by local artists.
Visitors are welcomed by an experienced, friendly, and knowledgeable staff who pour Hawkins’ diverse selection of award-winning wines. Depending on the season, offerings include Rosé of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Viognier, Sangiovese, Syrah, and a Grenache/Mourvèdre/Syrah blend.
Founded in 2007, owner Thane Hawkins sources fruit from both the Willamette Valley and Columbia Valley in eastern Washington. Working closely with some of the most recognized growers in both regions, Hawkins Cellars produces small lots of handcrafted wines with distinctive varietal character. Each year his artisan wines have won awards at some of the most prestigious wine competitions both locally and nationally, receiving a Gold and two Silver medals at the 2012 Newport Seafood and Wine Festival wine competition, three Silver Medals at the 2012 San Francisco International Wine Competition. The just-released 2010 Columbia Valley Syrah from the Red Mountain AVA in Washington received a 90 point score from Wine Enthusiast.
Says owner Thane Hawkins, “We are truly excited to have a new location in the heart of Oregon’s wine country, where we will be able to share our wines with a wider audience than ever before.”
Hawkins Cellars’ Dundee Tasting Room is currently open Noon to 5pm, days vary by season. Please check the website for details –www.hawkinscellars.com or call 503-554-9885.
