Nancy Pfeiffer reading this Thursday

This Thursday, Oct. 4, author Nancy Pfeiffer will read from her new book Riding Into the Heart of Patagonia at Grass Roots Books & Music at 7:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Spring Creek Project. Please join us and help spread the word.
As a novice horsewoman, Nancy Pfeiffer took off across Patagonia alone on horseback. Over the next two decades and 3,000 kilometers of rugged horse trail, the hospitable people who live there took her in, sharing their culture and homes. Nancy witnessed the subtle yet disturbing changes of a rich, self-sufficient culture. When a scheme to dam Patagonia’s largest rivers threatened the land and lifestyle Nancy had come to love, she joined the Cabalgata Sin Represas, a 330-kilometer non-violent protest ride against the dams, and her story became history—on horseback. She recounts this incredible tale in her new book.
Life as a mountaineering guide has given Nancy the opportunity to experience the world’s highest summits, yet it is the landscapes and cultures encountered along the way that intrigue her most. Her published works range from poetry to scientific research.
Grass Roots will have Nancy’s book available for purchase, and a book signing by the author will follow her reading.
Hope to see you there!
