From September 19-22, Pranafest will bring some of the biggest names in yoga and kirtan to the tiny mountain town of Ashland, Oregon for a full-on celebration of devotion to the divine. The 4-day hot springs camping festival will feature classes, concerts and ceremonies by an all-star lineup of yoga teachers and kirtan leaders. Pranafest will run from 19-22 September 2013 at the Jackson WellSprings, an idyllic 35-acre botanical wonderland world-famous for its healing waters.
Kirtan 11am to 11pm Daily
Pranafest will feature two stages of kirtan from 11am to 11pm daily covering styles ranging from traditional acoustic to cutting-edge kirtronica. Sessions will be led by world-renowned artists including Jai Uttal, Donna De Lory, C.C. White, Mirabai Ceiba, Govindas & Rahda, Jaya Lakshmi & Ananda, Joey Lugassy, Gina Sala, Shylah Ray Sunshine, Sharanam, Eostar, Prema Mayi, and many more.
Yoga Classes and Workshops
Pranafest will offer open group classes in 2 venues with some of the global yoga community’s most celebrated and revered teachers including Sianna Sherman, Saul David Raye, Sherri Baptiste, Micheline Berry, Sara Ivanhoe, Mark Whitwell, Govindas & Rahda, Dana Damara, Gigi Yogini, Denise Kaufman, Taylor Wells, Ashley Albrand, Graell Corsini and many more. Classes will cover a diverse array of yogic disciplines including Vinyasa, Kundalini, Anusara, Yin, Bhakti and more. The festival will also offer in-depth workshops covering dance, martial arts, breathwork, astrology, sound healing, sustainability, wellness and the philosophy and practice of both kirtan and yoga.
Healing Arts & Sacred Ceremonies
Private sessions with professional therapists specializing in the intuitive and healing arts will be available on an á la carte basis from 10am to 8pm daily. Offerings will include massage, reiki, acupressure, cranial sacral, polarity and more. In keeping with the rich native history of the springs, Pranafest will offer attendees the opportunity to have the purifying experience of traditional group sweat and moon lodges. The festival will also feature a ceremonial soak similar to those flowing from the Judaic tradition.
Hot Springs Spa & Botanical Gardens
Jackson WellSprings is a 35-acre natural mineral hot springs about 2 miles from the central plaza of Ashland, Oregon, home to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The hot springs and main stage are nestled within beautiful botanical and medicinal gardens filled with traditional teepees and geodesic domes. The spa features an Olympic-size pool, warm soaking tub, private mineral baths, steam room, dry sauna and mountain-side mikvah. The WellSprings features its own certified-organic 3-acre garden that provides most of the food and herbs for its on-site restaurant.
Camping & Hotels
There are 500 special passes available for advance purchase on Pranafest.org on a first-come basis that will permit attendees to set up camp within the beautiful festival grounds. There are also three hotels within easy walking distance of the WellSprings and over 50 more nearby. Ashland is a thriving tourist town with an array of accommodations. Among the best is the Lithia Springs Resort right next to the festival.
