Rafns’ Restaurant is now serving a new Spring Dinner Menu. With the opening of the Wednesday Farmers’ Market just steps away from their downtown Salem restaurant, Rafns’ is offering appetizers, entrees, and desserts that highlight fresh spring produce from Denison Farms (Corvallis), Nikko Farm (Aumsville), and Osprey Farm (Salem), among others.
The spring menu will feature several new items, including Willamette Valley Baked Brie with Preserved Oregon Cherries ($9), Risotto with Organic Kale and Olympic Provisions Smoked Kielbasa ($20), and Organic Strawberry & Cream Cheese Tart ($8).
Rafns’ is open for dinner 5pm to 8pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Reservations can be made by calling 503-580-2936.
Background: Rafns’ opened in the summer of 2013, primarily as a specialty food shop and deli. At the beginning of 2015, the owners decided it was necessary to change the concept. They closed for a few weeks, removed most of the retail shelving, added more seating, updated the décor, and re-opened as a restaurant first and foremost. Rafns’ now serves lunch and dinner, Tuesday through Saturday. Rafns’ is the only restaurant in Salem serving primarily local and organic cuisine. In fact, 80% of the products sourced by Rafns’ kitchen staff are locally or regionally grown, while 75% of products are organic or “beyond organic.” Rafns’ proudly supports several farms and ranches that are Certified Organic, Non-GMO Verified, Certified Humane, Food Alliance Certified, and/or Animal Welfare Approved.
