Shout! The Mod Musical swings on stage at Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre May 16 – June 10!
Shout! The Mod Musical flips through the years like a musical magazine, tracking five young women as they come of age during the liberating days of the 1960s that made England swing! This bright vinyl time capsule is packed full of songs, dance and nostalgia. Shout! features a cavalcade of hits including “Downtown,” “Son of a Preacher Man,” “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me” and many more.
Shout! The Mod Musical features a powerful cast of five women, characterized by the color of their costumes as they correlate to Shout! Magazine’s personality colors. Follow the women as they navigate the decade that brought us the Civil Rights Act, the Vietnam War, Star Trek, the first heart transplant, the first Super Bowl, the first man on the moon, and Mary Quant’s mini-skirt.
Enlightened Theatrics’ Shout! The Mod Musical cast features local actresses Kurleen Nowickas (Blue) previously seen on ET’s stage as Glinda in 2016’s Wizard of Oz, Deborah Mae Hill (Yellow) most recently seen as Belle in Pentacle Theatre’s Beauty and the Beast, Tara Beanblossom (Orange) seen as Lottie in Portland’s Staged! reading of Shanghaied!, Jessica Peterson (Green) recently on stage at Elsinore’s production of Little Shop of Horrors, and Paige Hanna (Red) a RiverCity Rock Star Academy student also seen in Pentacle’s Beauty and the Beast.
