The Oregon Garden Hosts Barn Dance and Pig Roast

Second annual event offers live music, line dancing and old-fashioned fun

SILVERTON, Ore. – August 15, 2012 – Round up your friends and head to The Oregon Garden for its 2nd annual Barn Dance & Pig Roast, September 22 from 6:30 to 11 p.m. in the Grand Hall at 879 W Main St.

Advance tickets cost $20 before September 7, then $25 before September 19; tickets are $30 at the door. Tickets include dinner, line dance lessons, live music, and one beer/beverage. The event is for ages 21 and older. Tickets are available at www.oregongardenbarndance.blogspot.com.

Dinner, which will be served between 7 and 8:30 p.m., includes roasted pork accompanied by a variety of side dishes and dessert. Beer, including selections from Silverton’s own Seven Brides Brewing, wine and spirits will also be available.

Music will be provided by the Oregon Valley Boys, who hail from deep within the wilds of the Pacific Northwest. Playing an eclectic mix of western and Texas swing, the band’s music hearkens back to the golden age of western swing, when bands like Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys and the Tune Wranglers were performing in packed dance halls around the Southwest.

Line Dance lessons and DJ services will be provided by Rockin’ Robyn’s DJ and Dance. An onsite photo booth will capture all the fun moments with friends.

For those who want to enjoy the evening and not worry about getting home, The Oregon Garden Resort is offering a Barn Dance package for $179 that includes a room, two Barn Dance tickets, Garden admission, and breakfast the next morning. Visit www.oregongardenresort.com or call 503-874-2500 to make reservations.

The Oregon Garden Barn Dance is sponsored in part by Double H Western Wear and Seven Brides Brewing. For more information, visit www.oregongardenbarndance.blogspot.com.
