Northwest residents looking to tiptoe through the tulips at the annual Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn may want to consider making it an overnight affair. The Oregon Garden Resort in Silverton is offering its popular Tulip Festival Package from March 31 through May 2.
Available Sunday through Thursday, the package price of $79 plus tax includes overnight accommodations for two, breakfast for two in the Garden View Restaurant, a parking pass for the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival, a coupon for 10% off in the Wooden Shoe gift shop, and admission with unlimited access to The Oregon Garden.
The Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival has been an annual event since 1986 and features more than 40 acres of colorful tulips and daffodils in full bloom. The varieties are arranged differently in a new pattern of color each year. The festival offers a number of daily activities in addition to the fields, including display gardens, farm equipment displays, a children’s play area, a gift shop, a country store, food booths and the Tulip Café.
The Oregon Garden Resort is a 20-minute drive to the tulip festival through scenic hop fields, nurseries and farmland. A side trip to Silver Falls State Park is also highly recommended; the Oregon State Park features more than 25 miles of trails for hiking, including the nationally recognized Canyon Trail that leads hikers along the banks of the north and south forks of Silver Creek. The Canyon Trail passes by 10 majestic waterfalls, ranging from the grand South Falls (177 feet), to the delicate Drake Falls (27 feet).
