September 2020 Window Artists – Anna Mallard and Ann Durley
Anna Mallard: While attending a conference in San Antonio several years ago, Anna discovered and fell in love with decorated gourds. Gourds spanned the globe in prehistoric times and became important for their usefulness and versatility as cultures developed. She also designs and makes hooked rugs and textiles. Anna is intrigued by the universality of ancient images and enjoys combining this interest into art.
Ann Durley: Ann Durley has always been a collector of bits and pieces. After retiring from a 2nd career as an antique dealer, I have been able to combine my passions into mixed media clocks. By using odds, ends, and found objects in unexpected ways, I create clocks which are recycled, functional, and unique.For the last six years I have been producing mixed-media clocks from items she finds and collects from antique stores, flea markets and estate sales. This is one way to reuse items people throw from junk drawers, and give them another life. Each one is singular and unique. She says she could never build the same clock twice and wouldn’t even try.
October 2020 Window Artist – Sue Mason
I have been reflecting on the made to ceramics during the Italian Renaissance and also Pablo Picasso’s works in clay. I’m starting my sixth decade at the potter’s wheel and my sixth Window Show at the River Gallery in October. Picasso and the Italian Renaissance will be right here with me as I work. My bugs will be with me too.
October 2020 Focus Artist – Flora, Feathers and Fur
Becki Hesedahl primarily paints from nature in watercolor. She loves the various elements of the natural world from the human form to trees, plants and animals. This show will feature new work in watercolor showing her connection to the natural world. Stop by the River Gallery to be amused by her vision of nature.
River Gallery will feature our Associates Artists in September 2020. There will also be individual art highlights for our Associate Artists.
In August 2020 we are also adding a “Sunday Salon” by appointments only for small groups up to ten people.
Our hours for July and August are Friday and Saturday from noon-4:00pm.
